I am looking to donate/drop-off a trailer filled with furniture and baby items to the new Pequannock location… are you open yet?

Hi Jeanne – Thank you for thinking of Goodwill and writing us. We currently don’t provide any services specifically for workers 50 or older; however, we are in the middle of updating our NJ brochure. We will be sure to send you a copy when it is complete (early January). Thank you again for the inquiry and Happy Holidays!

You get so much stuff you probably can’t use/sell. What do you do with the clothing, housewares, etc that are not in good condition and can’t be sold in a Goodwill store?

Hi Jane – Great question! We do our best to follow environmentally sound practices. Clothing, textiles, bags and shoes that cannot be sold in a regular store are sent to the Van Dam outlet store to be sold by the pound. If they have tears or stains, they are bailed and sold to textile recyclers. The only textiles that are thrown away are those that are hazardous with chemical stains or damp with mold. We ask donors not to bring household goods that are broken and not useable. However, we do accept both working and nonworking computers, printers, peripherals, electronics and cell phones. What cannot be sold in stores or online is sold by the pound to recyclers. We are currently exploring what else we can do to achieve zero waste goals. Thanks again for the comment, and thank you for supporting Goodwill!

Hi, I have some furniture to donate and would like to drop off at your springfield location. May I ask what kind of furniture do you take and if I need to make an appointment?

    Thanks!

Hi Joyce – Thank you so much for thinking of Goodwill! We do accept smaller pieces of furniture on a case-by-case basis. We’ll send you an email now asking for more specifics so we can give you feedback before you head over to our store. Again, thank you for the comment and thank you for donating to Goodwill!

I have clothing, bed spreads, coats, etc. to donate. Can I just drop them off or do I need to make an appointment? Do you take pictures, dishes, etc?
