Beacon’s Finest, Goodwill’s step team at PS 109 performed in the New York Times Travel Show this Saturday, January 17 at the Jacob K. Javits Center.
Over the weekend, the travel show attracted:
- 28,000 travel and industry professionals
- 500+ Exhibitor booths from across the globe
- 150+ travel industry speakers and experts
- 100+ cultural presentations from around the world
The performance of the Step team at Goodwill’s Beacon 109 highlighted their participation in the “Step It Up” competition. Organized by the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development, the event took place last year.

Beacon Community Centers provide a wide array of educational and recreational activities for anybody ages 6- adult. The Beacon programs are designed to engage the entire community of the host school, after school, evenings, weekends, school holidays, and during the summer.
