On Thursday, July 23, Goodwill NYNJ staff marked 100 years of helping individuals and their families in our communities to achieve a better life. Today, our more than seventy programs in thirty sites serve thousands of people annually.
The staff from all Goodwill NYNJ program sites and stores simultaneously celebrated at 2 p.m. Every employee working at Goodwill NYNJ took part – they enjoyed cupcakes and refreshments and sang “Happy Birthday.”
The employee cafeteria at NYNJ Goodwill’s Astoria headquarters was decorated to host staff and guests. Goodwill NYNJ President and CEO William J. Forrester expressed how important this year is for our Goodwill and how meaningful is to be part of the Goodwill NYNJ team.
We were honored to receive proclamations from the office of Mayor Bill de Blasio and our local New York City Council Member, Costa Constantinides.

But that was not all! Then Goodwill staff and VIPs took a trip to Citi-Field to enjoy “Goodwill Day.” Employees and their friends and family watched the New York Mets play the Los Angeles Dodgers. They enjoyed the evening with food and drink.
