Playing and Learning at Goodwill’s SONYC 145
Students have been having a great time with our projects. In “Feet and film canister – Build it, Do it,” the students made chalk rockets and set them off to explode in the school yard. They learned about science and how chemical reactions cause the explosion.
They also learned about graffiti for comic class and worked together to design a sidewalk art piece at the school yard. In “Crayon picture – DIY” class they created pieces of melted crayon on canvas using supplies the program received from Materials for the Arts. They learned about Architecture by studying and recreating the skyline of different cities. The Chess club continued to compete in various tournaments.
