On March 2, Goodwill NY-NJ will inaugurate a brand-new program for middle school students in its Family Learning Center, housed in Goodwill’s Astoria campus, located at 4-21 27th Avenue, in Queens (11102.) The Goodwill SONYC Afterschool program will offer free services during the regular school year, Monday – Friday from 2:15 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Goodwill’s SONYC program for 6th-8th graders will provide enrichment activities focused on Literacy and STEM (Science, technology, engineering and mathematics), and leadership activities.
Activities include:
Robotics
Engineering
Mentoring
Tutoring
Homework Help
Computers
Music
Karate
Boxing
Sports
Dance
Drumming
Trips
The first 20 applicants to register will receive FREE school supplies.
The program will offer free daily pickups from Q 126, The Albert Shanker School for Visual and Performing Arts, located at 31-51 21th Street, Astoria Queens 11106, immediately after school.
