This Friday, December 12th, is the fourth annual National Ugly Christmas Sweater DayWith the winds bustling through the streets and the Christmas lights illuminating the night, it’s no doubt that the holidays are here. If you haven’t started your Christmas shopping, don’t worry, you’re not alone. Today isn’t the time to panic though, today is the time to get an ugly Christmas sweater. This Friday, December 12th, is the fourth annual National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day. Started by a group of college friends, the holiday has now grown to millions of participants.

Ugly sweaters have been around since the beginning of Christmas traditions, floating in the backdrop of your closet or crawling out to make an appearance on Christmas Eve. This is the first year you can wear them for a cause. National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day has partnered with Save the Children in their “Make the World Better with a Sweater” campaign. An initiative intended to raise awareness and donations for children in need by wearing ugly sweaters this Friday.

You can go online to buy one or you can find the perfect ugly Christmas sweater at your local Goodwill. Encourage other to join in on the holiday and participate. There are infinite ways to get involved and have fun, but remember to stay ugly however you join in!
