Today, Goodwill NY-NJ inaugurated its 44th store in the metropolitan New York City region at Lake Ronkonkoma, Long Island. The 15,197 square-foot store is located in the Lake Shore Shopping Plaza at 585 Portion Road, Lake Ronkonkoma, NY, 11779. The third Goodwill store in Suffolk County will be open to the public Mon.-Sat. 9:30 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Sun. 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Aside from bringing twenty jobs to the community, the Ronkonkoma Goodwill store will provide training and work for individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment. In Long Island, Goodwill stores serve as training enclaves for individuals with disabilities and other disadvantages from more than thirty local rehabilitation agencies.
In addition, Goodwill will bring GoodTemps, its temporary staffing agency, to recruit job-seekers. In the past, GoodTemps hired workers for the Long Island Rail Road in various capacities.
Goodwill stores will serve as drop-off centers for Island Harvest. Anybody who wants to donate non-perishable food items may drop donations at any of our five Long Island Goodwill stores from November 1 through December 31.
If you or your company would like to partner with Goodwill in any project to help the community, pleas email firstname.lastname@example.org.
