Effective today, MakeSpace has agreed to continue collecting clothing and household goods from new customers who sign with the virtual storage company through December 2014. In an effort to help New Yorkers get rid of those items they no longer need to achieve an uncluttered home, MakeSpace will drop off blue “Goodwill/MakeSpace” bags along with their MakeSpace storage bins. Customers may fill the bins with the items they want to store in MakeSpace and fill the blue bags with unwanted items to donate to Goodwill.
Follow these three quick steps to de-clutter your house and do-good at the same time:
1. Sign up for an account with MakeSpace. You will receive storage bins and one complementary Goodwill + MakeSpace donation bag.
2. Fill up your bag and bins.
3. Schedule a pick-up. MakeSpace will take your storage items off your hands and donate the items you no longer want to Goodwill.
1-2-3 and you’re on the way to a bigger home and a better world!
So far this summer, MakeSpace has collected more than 250 large blue bags to Goodwill.
What better time to unclutter your home and donate to Goodwill before the end of the year and get a tax receipt for your donation. Request your receipt at email@example.com with the subject “MakeSpace Donation Receipt Request” and provide the following information: date, # boxes/bags (if more than the large bag provided), itemized list, first & last name, address and phone number.
