This month, Goodwill’s workforce development program in the Bronx, Jobs-Plus, is hosting two exciting community events. The program, which provides job readiness training and employment support for working age residents, will be hosting a support group for women in business and a back to school fair.
“Jobs-Plus 2nd Annual Back to School Bash”
Jobs Plus is committed not only to helping local working-age residents, but also providing support for their children. At the second-annual “Back to School Bash” on August 22, Jobs-Plus will provide resources for children and parents at this combination event.
The event will take place from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. on August 22 at P.S. 107 (1695 Steward Ave in the Bronx).
The bash will also feature some fun activities for the children including face painting and a back-to-school book swap. Children who come with their parents can also receive a supply-filled backpack while supplies last.
“Women on Wednesdays”
Jobs-Plus is bringing an exciting event to the women of the Bronx on August 27. From 5 p.m. – 6 p.m. women in the community can attend the “Women on Wednesdays” workshop to speak about women in business.
The workshop strives to help women to find and retain fulfilling and successful careers. Topics of discussion will also include finding a balance between life at work and at home, what employers expect in today’s business world, and how to get along with other women in the workplace.
Jobs-Plus invites all local women to come to this workshop and bring some friends! Refreshments will be served.
The workshop will take place at 1620 Bruckner Blvd, Bronx, NY, 10473 (Near Food Bazaar). Please contact Mrs. Shields to reserve your space @ 347-291-8063 or email@example.com.
