Can you believe that spring will arrive next month? You would not guess that from the weather forecast, but hey! We had a semi-springy weekend. Some reporters even noticed New Yorkers spring trend clothing under the motorcycle jackets that some dared to unzip in hopes of getting some warm sun.
I bring this to your attention since Thursday, March 13, Bon-Ton Inc. and Goodwill Industries® will start the spring Goodwill Sale, now in its 20th year!
The Goodwill Sale is a trade-in event that benefits 60 Goodwill agencies in the Northeast, Midwest and upper Great Plains.
Each Spring and Fall, Bon-Ton customers donate gently used clothing to Goodwill. In return, they earn a store coupon for each item donated. It’s a win for Goodwill, a win for Bon-Ton, and a win for the customers.
Over the past 20 year Bon-Ton customers have donated 95 million items during the Goodwill Sale – that’s 8.9 million hours of job services to get people back to work. We are not done yet!
Here in the Goodwill NY-NJ region, you may find Bon-Ton stores in the capital region of NY and the upper Hudson Valley area (including our Vails Gate and Wappingers Falls stores).
Learn why it’s important to “Donate Stuff. Create Jobs.”
Goodwill donors can calculate the positive impact of their donation. Simply choose your donation from the drop-down menu, and the calculator will display the impact of your donation on the community. For example, a donation of one bag of clothes provides one hour of a financial planning class or resume preparation assistance to someone who is looking for work and building a career.
