Last Tuesday, four comedians from the Gotham Comedy Foundation performed for members of Goodwill’s Seamark Center Clubhouse in Brooklyn. Funny man Gulio Gallarotti headlined the show along with three of his buddies. This was the second time that Gotham comedians had visited the Goodwill site in Brooklyn.
Last month, Gallarotti and two other friends came to the Clubhouse invited by Goodwill’s Recreational Coordinator Sonya Webb. Brooklyn Channel 12 News had expressed an interest in broadcasting a show from the Goodwill clubhouse.
Goodwill’s Seamark is a participant-driven psychosocial clubhouse in South Brooklyn aimed at individuals with mental illness. Members run the clubhouse alongside staff and help organize its vocational, social, recreational and educational programs. Temporary employment opportunities are available for members who would like to work part-time in a competitive environment.
Hours are Monday-Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Clubhouse is open on Holidays and some Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
