Thanksgiving is coming soon and we will all list what we are thankful for. Then, that Friday and Monday most of us will be scouring stores and the internet for amazing deals. Now there is a day for giving back – #GivingTuesday! On Tuesday December 3, 2013, global charities, families, businesses, community centers, students and more will come together to create #GivingTuesday.
We here at Goodwill are participating in this one day campaign and are looking to give the gift of warmth to hundreds of children. Your monetary donations will help us purchase gloves, hats and scarves and give them to children in need.
On December 3 look out for the hashtags #GivingTuesday and #GiftofWarmth making its way around Facebook, Twitter and Instagram along with info on how to donate.
New York’s 92nd Street Y was the brainchild in creating #GivingTuesday, bringing the expertise of 139 years of community-management to the project and providing #GivingTuesday a home. The United Nations Foundation joined as partners, bringing their strategic and communications clout to the project.
