See how some of our Beacon programs marked the event:

Beacon 109 Program
Participants and staff rallied around the school, IS 109, chanting “This ain’t nothing but a beacon ‘thang’ Light on Light on,” followed by two claps. After going around the school building once, participants shared why they love the beacon program. Some participants also read letters from their pen pals from Goodwill’s beacon 141, who expressed why they loved their beacon program too. After going around the school one more time, staff expressed what’s so special about the beacon 109 and why they loved working there. The event culminated with a pizza party for all!

OST 157 Program
Students decorated light bulbs to accompany posters that they hung in the school hallway. The goal was to express the importance of afterschool programs to parents and the community.
