Last weekend, a group of very brave runners tackled the Manhattan Half Marathon in the bitter cold. As if that weren’t impressive enough, they also went the extra mile by giving the clothes they threw off as they ran (i.e. as their bodies, thank goodness, warmed up) to Goodwill.

Goodwill in action!: 1,000 pounds of clothes were donated by Manhattan Half Marathon runners last weekend.

We hope to have photos in the coming days, but for now, what we do have is our overwhelming appreciation – and approximately 1,000 pounds of clothing we picked up from the event.

Thank you to all who ran, all who organized, and all who helped us collect these items. We’ll be sorting and selling these items in our stores, and the proceeds will go directly back to our programs and services, including our ongoing Sandy Relief Program as well as our youth services, our vocational rehabilitation services, our veterans’ services and more.
