It’s Thanksgiving week and our thoughts are full of gratitude. Not only for our shoppers and donators, who keep programs like Goodwill Suits Vets and our Beacon after-school programs alive, but also to the many New York and New Jersey residents who have jumped in to help our communities rebuild after Sandy.

From the great Goodwill volunteers in the Rockaways and Brooklyn to the locals who’ve donated supplies to the Goodwill-Modells-WPLJ to our program staff who’ve helped us set up blood drives to our store managers who’ve helped victims of the storm use their $50/family member (present or not) credit to begin to replace what was lost.

Today we have one more heart-warming item on our list: College Hunks Hauling Junk and College Hunks Moving of Long Island and the Greater NYC area. This organization has been right there helping us deliver donations and support to those affected by Sandy.

A three-truck thank you to Occupy Sandy and College Hunks Hauling and Moving for the Sandy Relief support!

In partnership with Occupy Sandy and GoodwillNyNj, College Hunks helped load up and deliver an entire moving truck of clothes filled to capacity for people in need of help in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy and the blizzard that followed. In total, College Hunks was able to donate and deliver 1,000 bags of clothes to our partner GoodwillNyNj in just 1 day.

“We have been out on the streets from the Tuesday afternoon of the storm Hurricane Sandy and in some towns were the first on the ground to lend a hand,” College Hunks Hauling Junk and College Hunks Moving of Long Island and the Greater NYC tells us. “We are proud to be a preferred partner of Goodwill and together work as a positive force in our communities. We will continue to help as much as we can.”

College Hunks Hauling Junk and College Hunks Moving has asked anyone needing their services or knowing of an organization that does to please reach out to them. You can reach them at 1-800-586-5872 or at collegehunks.com.

Take care and have a Happy Thanksgiving!
