With Memorial Day weekend, the unofficial start of summer, around the corner, it’s never too late for spring cleaning! Starting May 24th, Springfield, NJ residents will be able to count on a convenient and environmentally friendly final destination for those items they find while de-cluttering their homes: the brand-new Goodwill DonationXpress.
Goodwill’s DonationXpress, an Attended Donation Center, offers a quick and easy way to get rid of the clothing, electronics, and other household items their families no longer need, and get a tax receipt for their donation. GoodwillNyNj diverted more than 60 million pounds of unwanted goods from landfills in 2011 alone.
So join us as we celebrate a cleaner, greener tomorrow on Thursday, May 24 with a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house at 10 a.m. DonationXpress is located at 649 Morris Turnpike, Springfield, NJ 07081 (phone: 973-376-6541) and will be open to the public seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
New Jersey residents may drop-off at DonationXpress clothing, electronics, small furniture, books, records, CDs, DVDs, and other household items. Goodwill relies on the communities that it serves to donate these items to sell in its stores. Sale proceeds from Goodwill Stores support Goodwill’s mission of helping find jobs for individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment. To calculate the positive impact of your Goodwill donations, use our donation impact calculator.
In addition to promoting reuse and recycling and supporting our many programs and services, DonationXpress provides jobs for area residents and serve as a training site for people from New Jersey Goodwill employment programs.
Because Goodwill Industries is a not-for-profit organization, donated goods in good condition are tax-deductible and receipts are provided upon request. With eight Goodwill Stores in New Jersey, the closest is located also in Springfield at 126 Route 22. Find the nearest store to you at the Goodwill website.
