Need some inspiration to step up your game this month? Just let Beacon’s Finest set the pace and you’ll be making headlines in no time. This all-girls step team from Intermediate School 109 was chosen to perform for the upcoming WNBA game pitting New York Liberty against the Connecticut Sun. Congratulations, ladies!

Beacon's Finest does Goodwill proud, stepping it up at the upcoming New York Liberty WNBA game.

Remember to save the date to be revved up: May 19, 2012 at 4pm at the Prudential Center for Liberty Greek Night – and keep supporting these incredible Beacon 109 kids and all those who bring their A-game to our programs by shopping at and donating to your local Goodwill. Keep stepping, all!

For those new to the Goodwill loop, our Beacon programs are school-based community centers serving children, youth, and adults. There are currently 80 Beacons located throughout New York City, five of which are operated by the Youth Services Division of GoodwillNyNj, and all of which operate in the afternoons and evenings, on weekends, during school holidays, vacation periods, and during the summer.

From ballet lessons to recycling programs to summer camp (with a side of salsa), our Beacon staff, supporters and participants wow us again and again. To help support the kids and families at your local Beacon program, step on over to Goodwill the next time you need to donate your no-longer-neededs. Your donations really do make a difference in other people’s lives.
