This Thanksgiving, Goodwill would like to say “thanks for giving” to our shoppers and donors whose contributions help people get back on their feet and go back to work throughout the year.

A large number of people have their own reasons to be thankful this year after turning their lives around in Goodwill training programs. Traci McMartin is grateful that she can now live independently and care for her family after overcoming domestic violence and a criminal record. Traci got a new start through her local Goodwill agency in Sioux City, IA, and is now returning to college so she can become an advocate for women and children.

In these tough economic times, it can be tempting to focus on what we don’t have. It’s always helpful to focus on the things we have to be grateful for, as well as what we can give to other people. Even with reduced gift-giving budgets, there are still many ways to give back to others.
