Got kids? We’ve got programs. In fact, at last count the youth services division of Goodwill Industries serves over 11,000 youth and their families. Our program Beacon is a prime example of what Goodwill brings to its communities – and how your donations and support make all the difference in your neighbors’ lives.

Beacon kids take a moment to pose between updating on their online book club, studying for the SATs and working on their tae kwon do.
Beacons are school-based community centers serving children, youth, and adults. There are currently 80 Beacons located throughout New York City, four of which are operated by the Youth Services Division of Goodwill Industries, and all of which operate in the afternoons and evenings, on weekends, during school holidays, vacation periods, and during the summer.
Typical activities for youth include:
- Literacy activities
- Tutoring
- High school/college prep
- Math clubs
- Photography
- Basketball
- Chess
- Martial arts
