Planning on shopping the big Memorial Day Sales at your New York & Northern New Jersey Goodwills? The 25-50% off discount makes the trip a good deal, what makes it meaningful is where the money goes. As your local Goodwill, we work with NY and NJ veterans to help whole families re-enter the economic mainstream.

Have you shopped or donated Goodwill lately? If so, you've helped veterans in your area.

We provide a variety of employment, youth and education services to help families during and after active duty. And if we can’t meet your need, we will refer you to one of our community partners that can.

For example, our GW Vets and Dislocated Worker Programs provide job preparation and placement services for U.S. Veterans and other dislocated workers affected by the economic downturn. You can contact us at our Brooklyn office at 718-246-7885.

Also, GoodSkills provides clerical skills enhancement training and job placement assistance for disabled veterans as well as for individuals with psychiatric, physical, developmental, or substance abuse disabilities. The 11-week refresher and enhancement program includes training for:  Mavis Beacon Typing Tutor, Office Filing, Data Entry, and MS Office Suite. Participants also gain assistance in resume writing, interviewing skills, career exploration and employment search techniques. For more information on this program, please call us at 718-237-0561.

We’re here for you – and we’re able to offer resources because of your support. Thank you for shopping and donating Goodwill, and please give us a call at the numbers above if you or a loved one is a veteran in search of goodwill.
