As promised in our last post, “GoodwillNyNj’s National Disability Awareness Events,” we’ve had a wonderfully busy month of mentoring events for students and other job seekers with disabilities. As part of Disability Mentoring Day, we led outings at local corporations including Kmart, Merck and Red Lobster:
Goodwill’s group of job seekers went behind the scenes at Red Lobster, making connections and paving the way to meaningful employment in the future.
Our team had a blast, learning just what it takes to bring home a paycheck and impressing potential employers with their workplace-ready skills. Thank you for your support of Goodwill – in shopping, donating and spreading the word, you’re helping people with disabilities find meaningful employment. We couldn’t do it with you!
