With Valentines Day coming up tomorrow, we’re asking you make a special exception to the one-and-only Valentines rule. We’re asking that instead of setting your sights on just one person, you make hundreds of kids feel loved. We’re talking about Beacon, and saving Beacons 109 and 141, and, by saving those Beacon, saving the after-school programs, kid-led recycling programs, dance classes, family-building activities, homework help and safe social lives of countless kids in the New York City area.

Here’s a deeper look at what you’ll be saving if you help us save Beacon 109 and 141:
Beacon 141 is located in Astoria, Queens, 11105 and as many of us know, this community needs free quality after school care. We annually serve over 2,000 community residents through academic, and recreational services.
Beacon 109 has been in existence since 2009 in the 29th school district, and Goodwill has operated the program since early 2011. We served over 1200 youths and over 400 adults in the Queens Village area, a very diverse area with great need for an after school program such as ours. Our services providing ESL and naturalization information are also critical to this community.
Please help us keep these programs operating in the communities that need them most. Thank you for your support, Goodwill fans!
